I love Spiderman and Iron Man and Captain America and Paw Patrol. I like eating sausages and beans and chocolate. My favourite colour is red and when I’m older I’m going to fight dinosaurs.

For my whole life and long before that, mummy and daddy have lived to travel. Their adventures really started with a decision to cycle 400 miles through Vietnam and Cambodia despite neither having ridden a bike since they were about 13 years old. Fast forward through trips to Brazil, India, Philippines, South Africa, Namibia as well as breaks all around Europe and they decided to settle down and have a family. First me, Jacob and now my little sister Skye. So that will be all inclusive hotels on the Algarve from now on right?

Well, yes and no. They did take me to Portugal for my first birthday and, yes it was all inclusive on a beach. They also chucked me in a coach to Gibraltar which took about 7 hours each way. Not their finest moment. I guess they got bored of sitting by a swimming pool drinking awful cocktails.

They quickly learnt their lesson and the next year we flew to Zagreb, Croatia, hired a car and spent 10 amazing days exploring a truly stunning country. They realised that I wasn’t restricting them at all, in fact it was even more special sharing the experience with me. They discovered that travelling with a small child has it’s perks. People were so friendly and kind and wanted to speak to us and find out what we were doing visiting their town with a two year old. It’s surprising how much of an ice breaker a toddler is!

Another adventure soon followed and we spent 10 days in Malta leaving no stone unturned; watching Easter celebrations in Valletta, visiting neolithic temples and medieval castles as well as little fishing ports and market towns.

This year is different though.

Life has a funny way of closing and opening windows and one has opened up for a really big trip. We’ve been invited to a wedding in Radom, Poland and we have around 6 weeks to get there and back in time to spend my birthday with the rest of my family. Daddy says we’re going to take the scenic route. He keeps asking me how I feel about going on a holiday for a long time, where we go to a different place everyday. It sounds exciting!
